Theme of The Game
The Tokidoki brand is at the basis of the theme that is offered in this game. It’s a Japanese inspired brand, and the company that is behind it sells quite a few clothes and accessories with images of its Anime style characters.
Those same characters, which are drawn by the company’s main designer, will appear among the symbols of Lucky Town. It’s the kind of cartoon drawing style that you might find in certain Japanese series, but it’s not something you see too often in the Western world.
The characters themselves are very unusual, featuring unicorns, various children dressed as bunnies, mice or cows, and there is even one that looks like a milk carton.
Developer
The creator of this unusual title is IGT, a company that has a lot of pokie machines already to offer. You will find that IGT pokies are available at online and offline casinos, though not necessarily the same ones. I’m not often impressed with the design that their games will have, but features they do very well, and this is visible in Tokidoki as well.
How To Play It
You’re being asked to spend 60 coins for each spin of the pokie’s reels. 40 of those 60 coins will be used to activate the 40 lines, while the other 20 coins are for the features.
You will discover here a game that doesn’t look like anything you will find in another pokie machine. It’s the only game to be branded after the Tokidoki, and its characters can only be found here.
The look is a very childish one, with baby characters that have big eyes and which wear animal costumes. The Japanese look is easy to figure out, the interface is the usual one, so what’s left up to you to decide is whether you like it or not.
Special Features
The regular wild symbol, which is going to pay the most as well, will be the one which looks like a pirate’s logo. It has a heart, with two crossed bones underneath, and it comes in black and white.
The multiplier wild has 2x added to the logo, and it’s in yellow and black. This one only appears on the 3rd reel, applying its multiplier from there, if it is part of some new paying combo.
The Reel Reveal is shown as a record disk, which has an arrow pointing from right to left. The feature which follows goes through the five reels, and reveals certain features from each one, if the symbol of the right type appears on it.
It will start off from reel 1, where Caramella acts as a wild and brings you up to three extra wild positions. With the 2nd reel reveal, Truffle is the one that helps you, the symbol paying that round 2x to 15x the usual amount. Pogo is for reel 3, and it adds two expanding wilds to the reels on the left.
The reel 4 reveal gives you a cash prize, reaching 10 times the bet. With the reel 5 reveal, symbols with a character wild will turn regular characters into extra wilds.
Maximum Payouts
A 500x payout is the prize that appears to be offered, but there are also those multipliers which are obtained during the reel reveal feature.
Summary
A very unusual game, it should work best for those that already love the Japanese style. Based on its looks, I suspect that you will either love it, or hate it.
