Where to play?
Theme of The Game
The Rift’s theme seems to be inspired by some kind of rift that occurs in the space-time continuum. The rift occurs in the middle of a small deserted paved road, at night.
You see as the reels come out of the rift, with symbols which you might not get immediately what they’re supposed to represent. There is a weird mix of creatures and objects there, the former including an octopus, while the latter has a pocket watch, various coins and books or potions.
Thanks to the symbols which were used, it seems to have a fantasy angle as well. The wall shown behind the reels has a pentagram drawn on it, and it’s part of the bonus feature as well, so the rift might’ve been opened through a magic ritual.
Developer
Thunderkick’s base of operations is in Stockholm, Sweden. The company is a relatively new one, but it has been founded by developers with experience.
The Rift is their 13th title, the collection starting with Barber Shop, continuing with titles like Sunny Scoops, Magicious, Birds on a Wire or 1429 Uncharted Seas. Based on what I’ve seen so far in their games, they manage to offer a great experience to players, and their graphics tend to be very well handled.
How To Play It
Look at the bottom of the screen, and you will find a Bet section, on which you have to click if you want to change the wager. The minimum bet allowed is at $0.10, while the largest one is worth $100. 17 paylines are covered by the wager. The Spin button is the one located on the far right side at the bottom. The magical theme which seems to have been used here is unusual only because of the purple rift opening up at the bottom, but otherwise it’s a perfectly normal mix of magic and Victorian graphics. The city in the background, with its stone paved roads, looks like a 19th century image.
Special Features
One of the features which the game relies on is the Wild, with its logo being surrounded by a pink pentagram. In the base game you will get it as a regular wild, and it will be capable of helping you out by substituting for other symbols. Should five wilds take over a payline completely, they will form a combination, and pay up to $3,000.
The second major symbol that you will love to see is the scatter, the one which shows off the logo of the game. The presence of two such symbols will bring you a Rift Spin, while three or more trigger a feature with free spins in it.
A Rift Spin brings you sticky wilds along with a respin. The symbols which turn sticky are the ones that are not on winning lines. You also get 1 to 3 additional sticky wilds for that round.
With 3, 4 or 5 bonus symbols, you receive 10, 15 or 20 spins, respectively. The bonus feature which has these spins allows you to advance on a pentagram, each time you land that bonus icon during free rounds. For every three steps taken on the bonus drawing, you get 2 free spins and 1 sticky wild.
