Theme of The Game
Star Fall delivers a classic theme in front of the player, the recipient being a game with the standard 5 reels and with 25 lines.
Though its features do recommend it as a modern pokie machine, its symbols will be the ones that you’ve been seeing many times before, in 3 reel games usually. The background picture is an abstract one, using small squares of different shades of blue and green.
For the symbols, the selection of images includes the diamonds, the gold bell, the melon, cherries, grape, lemons, Ace, King, Queen and Jack. The Wild Star and the Star Coin are the feature symbols.
Developer
Push Gaming, which created Star Fall, is one of the smaller companies to create pokie machines these days, and they’re coming from London. The company has been founded in 2010 and since then they’ve created around 10 titles, including some very popular and fun ones.
I wouldn’t be too impressed with Star Fall, but other titles of theirs are much more original, and I would include here pokies like Humpty Dumpty, Meet the Meerkats or Golden Farm. They seem to do that, either create something fun and original, or something incredibly common theme wise.
How To Play It
There is no question here in regards to the number of coins you will use, or the number of lines which will be covered. The answer is 25 in both cases. The game only asks what the total bet should be worth, and there are a dozen different values to pick from. The smallest one is at $0.25, the largest one is at $100 per spin.
The options are mostly accessible through the grid like button found on the left side of the bottom row. Some displays and buttons are located there though. It’s an enjoyable game quality wise, but the lack of originality in the theme is annoying.
Special Features
The Golden Star symbol will be used to form more combinations than you would normally. You guessed it, this is the wild feature and it is the only one that is capable of acting as a replacement for some other symbol, provided that it’s not the scatter that needs the help, of course.
There is a Coin Stack symbol that will be present on reel 3 in this game. If you manage to get the full reel occupied by the stack, with three scatters visible, then you will trigger a feature with 6 free spins in it.
During those free games, you will get the Coin as a symbol that can be collected. It appears on the middle three columns during the free spins. If you manage to collect three Coins from the same reel, then that reel becomes populated with wilds and will be locked for the duration of the free games.
The presence of wild Stars on the reels which are not locked will result in a respin feature. During this respin, the reels which have the wild symbols will respin by only one symbol position.
Maximum Payouts
There are no multipliers offered in Star Fall, so the best payout is the one that comes from the Diamond symbol, and which can pay up to $2,000 for one combo, in a round which has a wager of $100.
Summary
Star Fall does alright by the player feature wise, and the graphics aren’t too bad considering what they’re showing you, but I really think that those fruit symbols are a mistake.
