Theme of The Game
The action of Lost Vegas takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting, in a Las Vegas that has been overrun by zombies, and where humans still exist and they’re trying to survive.
The streets of the city are shown behind the reels, and in some cases you’re being given glimpses into the current look of the casinos. The game has two sides to it, depending on which role you want to play, that of the zombie or the survivor. They will each have their own symbols representing them, along with special features.
The symbols from the Zombie side will include a paparazzi, a show girl, a nurse, an Elvis impersonator and a fancy dressed couple. They’re all shown as zombies in those symbols. The humans will have cops, young women, office workers and golf players, and they’re armed with various types of weapons, mostly of the blunt variety.
Developer
More than 600 pokie machines have been created by Microgaming so far, in their long history, but you don’t see the kind of quality that is offered in Lost Vegas in most of their titles, at least not when it comes to the graphics.
One of the things that annoys me most about their games, is that even the really good ones, like Lost Vegas, still manage to include a good number of poker cards, and they’re as boring as ever. Casinos that offer games from this developer can be sure that they will have new pokie machines each month.
How To Play It
Most games available from Microgaming include lately all the betting options in a single area, marked Bet. The easiest way is to just use the options to increase or decrease the total value of the bet.
If you want more control over it, click on the section to open it up, and to change coin values and the number which will be used. The game appears to require 30 coins at a minimum, in order to get you the 243 ways to win.
From what I’ve seen so far, the design of Lost Vegas is a big advantage for it, featuring the survivors and the zombies alike, depending on the game mode that you’re in.
The layout and the betting system are the ones that Microgaming uses lately, so fans of this developer shouldn’t have any issues playing the game and figuring out where everything is.
Special Features
Unsurprisingly, the game has wild symbols present on its reels. They are much more useful in a game which relies on ways to win, than in one which has regular pay lines.
The wild just needs to be on a reel where a symbol is needed, and it will be part of that combo, giving you a new win in the process. You shouldn’t rely on wilds to replace scatters, but that’s something that is true in most games.
At random, in the Zombie or the Survivor mode, you will get certain features triggered as you play. The Zombie Fist of Cash comes in when you have the Survivor Mode active, while the Zombies can give you the Blackout Bonus. They’re both simple, but visually they look great and they give you one other way to make money.
Another difference between the two modes comes during free spins. You trigger them the same way, with 3+ special scatters, but there are different advantages inside. The Stash Feature comes on the Survivors side, while Zombies will have the Infection Feature.
Maximum Payouts
This is one part of the game that we don’t know much about yet, but I don’t expect them to be too high, especially since the ways to win will usually pay often, but little.
Summary
Lost Vegas will be a must play title, and you don’t even have to be a fan of the zombie genre to enjoy it. The design is good enough, and the features look interesting, so you will probably want to play the game.
